La Delice Pastry Shop is a family-run bakery that has been in business since 1935.

This #momandpop bakery's three-layer vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream was made famous on Tina Fey’s skit on Saturday Night Live @nbcsnl last night when she said. “I would urge people this Saturday, instead of participating in screaming matches and potential violence, find a local business you support, maybe a Jewish-run bakery or an African-American bakery. Order a cake with an American flag on it and just eat it." The cake 🍰eaten by @tina_fey_official was created by @ladelicepastryshop.

Analog photo from 2004 and our interview with the 2nd-generation owner of this #bakery appear in our book "Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York". #storefront #signgeeks #lettering #dailytype #signcollective #everything_signage #ig_signage #typography #typevstime #weekendupdate #sheetcaking #sheetcakingisagrassrootsmovement
