La Parisienne Restaurant, NYC

La Parisienne is a second-generation family owned business that opened in 1950. The owner told us that his father founded the ‪#‎restaurant‬ "after having worked in the same location when it was just a small ‪#‎Greek‬ coffee shop. He renamed it La Parisienne in 1964 because he just liked the name. The menu was never ‪#‎French‬, but typical American fare." The gorgeous ‪#‎neon‬ sign with its unique ‪#‎font‬ is original from 1964. Photo and full interview with owner Jimmy Papageorge appear in our book "New York Nights".
